  Nanny Trippe

Nanny Trippe has had an interest in photography from a young age. What began as recordation of pets and nature has evolved into a love of composition.  " When composition, light and shadow, color and texture come into balance it is an exciting and beautiful thing. I love to be drawn to something-be it a tree, a building or a moment in time-that encompasses those elements."

Trippe has a degree in art history after attending Denison University and Richmond College in London, England. She joined the Tidewater Studios in 2009, and opened Trippe-Hilderbrandt Studios on Harrison St in Easton, Maryland with fellow artist Don Hilderbrandt in 2010. In November 2013, they relocated across the street and became Trippe-Hilderbrandt Gallery. Shortly thereafter, Don moved to west and it became simply The Trippe Gallery.

Her photo" #2 Door" won Best in Show and Best Black and White in Plein Air Easton! 2009 Photography competition and is published in Photographers Forum Best of Photography 2010. She has continued to have an image selected for publication in each successive year. She has won Best in Show at the Chestertown Arts League annual photography show and most recently won The Tidewater Camera Club Award for Photographic Excellence at the Academy Art Museum in Easton.  In 2016, a solo show of her images "Trees: Majesty and Mystery" was on exhibit at the Academy Art Museum in Easton. Nanny is a many generation native of the Eastern Shore and has a genuine love for the area and capturing its uniqueness.
