Mark Shasha(b. 1961) is an award-winnning

American artists, author, educator, and actor. His work has appeared in museums, galleries, newspapers and magazines around the world for 40 years and his children books have been read by millions.

After graduating from RISD in 1983, Shasha illustrated for the Boston Phoenix, The Globe and other publications. His first children's book " Night of the Moonjellies" (1992) won a Marion Vannett Ridgeway Honor Award and was welcomed by Smithsonian Magazine as "a classic". It continues to appear on some bestseller lists.

Shasha participates in some the largest art events in the country including The Forgotten Coast, Plein Air Easton, The Great Texas Paint Out and Cape Ann Plein Air.

Mark is an elected member of The Guild of Boston Artists, The Copley Society, Rockport Art Association and Museum, North Shore Arts Association and other venerable institutions. Recent awards include 2018 Artist Choice Award and Honoroable-Plein Air Easton, Oil Painters of America Excellence in Landscape, The Alden Bryan memorial Award(awarded twice to Shasha in 2016)

Shasha frequently appears o stage as actor and singer. He has written and preforms a multi-media presentation called "Art Up!" which riffs on the ways in which the Renaissance, the Humanities and the ideas of the Enlightenment improve our lives.
