The Trippe Gallery

A professional artist for over ten years, Ann Sharp now centers her focus on portrait painting. Ann grew up in the Annapolis area and has recently transplanted from Sante Fe, New Mexico to Shepherdstown, West Virginia where she lives with her artist husband Joe Mayer.

Ann states " I paint to learn. That makes each painting I do a challenge. Whether I am creating a landscape, portrait or still life, the confrontation is never easy but always exciting. I focus on composition, expressiveness, translation and metaphor. Less is more so every stroke becomes important."

Ann has exhibited at the Portrait Society of America and the New Mexico Art League Portrait Show in Albuquerque, the Maryland Federation of Art's "Stroke of Genius"(Annapolis, Md) and "Creative Connections" (Gallery B in Bethesda, Md)shows, Art at the Mill Show at teh Burwood-Morgan Mill in Milwood, Virginia, and the Maryland Society of Portrait Painter in Annapolis, Maryland.
